Using Batches During Scanning
Every time a number of questionnaires are scanned they are considered to constitute a batch. Each batch is automatically given a numeric identifier one greater than the previous batch, although this can be overridden.
Each batch can optionally be assigned a title by the user. This can be used for subsequent identification and filtering. Two differently numbered batches can be given the same title. The default for a batch title is to duplicate the previous batch title. The first batch is given a default title of "First Batch".
This feature allows a user to permanently attach an identification to questionnaires during scanning. This can subsequently be useful
For filtering as an aid to viewing, reporting and exporting.
For exporting for further analysis (batch numbers and titles can be included in the export file).
For editing sets of questionnaires (see Editing Scanned Batches).
Batch details are recorded during scanning via the Scan Batches dialog.

To keep the same batch number tick the Keep Batch No check Box (in the above example the batch number would be kept at four and not incremented to 5).
The batch title required can typed directly into the Title edit control.
There is a mode of scanning referred to as scanning in batch mode. This forces all the successfully scanned questionnaires to exist in one batch.
Batches can be subsequently used to aid processing scanned data.
They can be renamed (see Renaming Scanned Batches).
They can be used to filter data (see Filtering Using Batches).
They can be used to modify sets of questionnaires (see Editing Scanned Batches).
