Port Configuration

The application is normally configured appropriately for a client's port communication during installation. However if this was not done or the port details are changed the application will need the port configuration to be carried out.

Important: The parameters for the port configuration are stored in the Windows/System folder so to vary these settings will require write access to that folder. These settings will effect how the application communicates with the OMR so should not be manipulated without a clear understanding of the effects. If in any doubt contact Speedwell for further advice (see Contacting Speedwell).

To configure the port
  • In the Configure menu select Port.
  • The Communications Parameters dialog is displayed.

The following details identifying to the application the properties of the communications port can be set.
  • The port in use can be selected in the Port radio box.
  • The baud rate can be selected in the Baud radio box.
  • The parity can be selected in the Parity radio box.
  • The data bits can be selected in the Data Bits radio box.
  • The stop bits can be selected in the Stop Bits radio box.
