What is a Question Bank?
A question bank is a library of examination questions. Speedwell's Question Bank allows many such libraries of questions to be stored.
A question bank can relate to the subject with which the questions associated, particular examinations or a class year.
Each question bank can then be subdivided by category or syllabus area. Questions can be associated with one or more of these categories and there may be as many categories and sub categories as required.
A 'Functional Anatomy' question bank is shown below to demonstrate subject structure.

The overall structure of a question bank is user defined and may be modified, adding new libraries, categories or sub-categories as required.
Having designed the structure of a question bank, an examination administrator is then able to:
allocate questions to a specific category or sub-category
enter, amend or delete questions
select questions for an assessment by: manually browsing, randomly selecting or by defining and using an algorithmic procedure.
generate examination papers
after an assessment, import and keep the question performance statistics
produce reports for use at examiners' meetings
keep the questions development history - authored by ..., changed by..., when and for what reasons etc.
