KeyPoint Updates

KeyPoint updates take the form of a patch program, which you need to download and run. It will then upgrade the keypoint.exe file in your KeyPoint folder.

KeyPoint 5.54 Upgrade
Driven by customer feedback, this upgrade offers small improvements and bug fixes since the last major release in January 2007.

The main improvements are:

  • Improved WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). Web surveys and printed copies more accurately reflect the survey design so the form option Use current printer for more accurate screen display has been removed.
  • Improved performance for long/complex surveys. Keypoint is now more responsive when working on and entering data for long/complex surveys.
  • Improved performance for the management of invitations and the address book.
  • Wider range of predefined answers to choose from for choice questions. Up from 39 to 64.
  • Updated file and program icons for improved Windows Vista support. The icons can now be displayed at up to 256x256 size.

Installation Instructions

  1. The KeyPoint file format has changed so files will be upgraded when first opened. You should ensure you have made a backup copy of your KeyPoint folder and existing files before starting the upgrade process.
  2. We strongly recommend you complete all current surveys before upgrading.
  3. Users of version 5.52 will need to unistall KeyPoint, reinstall the original 5.5 version from CD, and then use the relevant upgrade patch.
  4. Download and Run the new version.
  5. Unzip files.

NB: This upgrade is for users of version 5.51 and 5.52 NOT users of version 5.53 (who already have the latest version of KeyPoint.


KeyPoint Scanning Upgrade
This will upgrade the scanning engine from version 8.0 to 8.1. The main difference is that 8.1 is fully Vista compatible.

Installation Instructions 

  1. Download and Run the new version.
  2. Unzip files. 
  3. Make sure that you DO NOT have your version of KeyPoint running
  4. Copy all the files and folders in the FR folder to:
    C:\Program Files\Keypoint 5.5\Plugins/FR\
    You'll be asked if you want to replace the files. Say YES to all.
  5. You can now use Keypoint as normal.
