Questionnaires and surveys operate at many levels within the Police, however within the Derbyshire Constabulary they are chiefly used by the Evaluation Team. Data capture techniques currently include; paper surveys, focus groups and telephone interviews. Paper surveys, for example, are used to gather responses to a variety of issues ranging from training needs analysis to post course evaluations. Because KeyPoint allows the Evaluation Team to generate a range of surveys they are confident that the time commitment from participants to complete them is not too demanding. Therefore avoiding the dreaded 'questionnaire fatigue', which can contribute to poor data being collected.
KeyPoint was the obvious choice, it's cost effective and the product's scope addresses for a wide variety of needs and has the capacity for large-scale surveys. The scanning module was perfect for our on-going evaluation issues. The team is now able to scan the surveys quickly and accurately, saving considerable time and money.
KeyPoint's effectiveness and speed of operation enables the Evaluation Team to tackle multiple tasks with relative ease. The team can assess the quality of training and monitor whether officers receive an appropriate level of training. Plus, the added value of the scanning module means that paper surveys can be scanned and input automatically into KeyPoint for analysis.
KeyPoint has significantly improved the accuracy of data collection by quickly finding and isolating inconsistent responses, such as failure to answer questions, which in the past has proven to be extremely time consuming and laborious.
The core benefit KeyPoint offers is its reliabilty and accuracy. The Evaulation Team has been able to assist the Constabulary in developing policing excellence, by addressing particular issues raised from the survey responses and analysis using KeyPoint. This has allowed evaluators to pinpoint the current strengths and weaknesses of training their officers and make improvements in the future.
KeyPoint fulfills all the Evaluation Team's needs; it had been particluarly useful in providing visual representations of survey andquestionnaire results. The Constabulary is very pleased with KeyPoint and has no plans to use any other software in the future.
