Frequently Asked Questions

How can I merge 2 KeyPoint files?

From KeyPoint 4 onwards you can use the import wizard to easily import a KeyPoint file. Previous versions can merge 2 KeyPoint files by exporting all the responses from survey 1 and importing them into survey 2. The surveys would have to be identical or at least have matching question types.

My survey is taking up a lot of disk space but it only contains a few pages of questions and no data yet. This makes it too big to email to other people. How do I correct this?

During the design of a survey, KeyPoint will retain 'legacy' information i.e. it remembers a lot of things, which the user has done. Also, if items have been deleted from the form, the space they took up is not automatically recovered immediately. Using the Optimize feature (on the File menu) will condense the file to its minimum size.

Why am I unable to open a KeyPoint file that is stored on a CD?

KeyPoint usually tries to create a temporary folder to unpack the files into. This folder is always in the same location as the original file. In the case of a CD, this will fail because the CD is read-only. The file must be moved from the media to a hard drive.
